1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name (if provided)
• Profile information from third-party sign-in providers (Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In) — only what you authorize

Trip and Catch Data

When you use the app to log fishing trips, we collect:

• Trip start and end times
• GPS route data (latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy) recorded during active trips
• Location name derived from reverse geocoding of your trip start point
• Catch details you enter: species, weight, length, bait, conditions, and notes
• GPS coordinates stamped at the time of each catch log

Location Data

Kastly uses your device's location services to record GPS routes during active fishing trips. Location data is collected:

• In the foreground — while the app is open and a trip is active
• In the background — if you grant background location permission, to continue recording your route when the screen is off or the app is minimized

Location data is only collected when a trip is actively recording. We do not collect location data at any other time.

Device and Technical Information

We may collect basic technical information to operate and improve the Service, including device type, operating system version, and app version.

Subscription Information

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (active or inactive) through RevenueCat but do not receive or store your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Kastly Service (trip logging, GPS tracking, catch management)
• Sync your data across devices via cloud storage
• Verify and manage your subscription status
• Send local push notifications (e.g., return-to-start alerts) — these are processed entirely on your device
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve and maintain the Service

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Kastly uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:

Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase for user authentication (Firebase Auth) and cloud data storage (Firestore). Your account information and trip/catch data synced to the cloud is stored on Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat, Inc.

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and your subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Mapbox, Inc.

We use Mapbox to display maps within the app. Map tile requests may be processed by Mapbox servers. See Mapbox's Privacy Policy.

Apple Inc.

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's data handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your trip and catch data is stored locally on your device using SQLite. When you choose to sync, data is uploaded to Firebase Firestore hosted on Google Cloud servers.

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can:

• Delete all local data at any time from the Settings screen ("Delete All Data")
• Request deletion of your account and associated cloud data by contacting us at hello@kastly.net

Upon a deletion request, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data
• Portability — export your data as CSV from the Settings screen
• Objection — object to processing of your data

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
